Very poor description!
Comment 4 oldfield 2002-01-16 09:32:59 UTC
I'm sorry for that. Let me elaborate a bit:

sometimes, the font name in the font selection box will be shown very
nicely (i.e. the font name is an example of the particular font,
anti-aliased) but sometimes, the font name will be shown very ugly
(i.e. the font name is shown in a non-anti-aliased manner).

in the first case, there's no problem; but in the second case, when we
choose that font and type in something, the spacing between the
characters will be messed up, like the attached screen dump.

MRU->US: I think you know the relation between fonts and Linux better
than me ;-)

Oldfield, if this issue still exists in OOo 1.0.1, please create a
new issue with clear step by step instructions on how to reproduce
the issue.

The following font FAQ is very helpful:

http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html

Closing issue.

Thanks, I've read that particular article. Seems like the problem is
rather random in nature. One time I open a document, I see the
problem; another time I open it again, there would be no problem.

Maybe it's due to the differences in the configuration of different
machines, anyway, until I found exactly how this problem can be
reproduced, I will open another issue.

Thanks a lot!
