Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 26447
formula in heading not shown in TOC
Last modified: 2012-06-25 21:47:40 UTC
When you put a formula into a heading, this formula is not shown in the table of contents. Putting it manually into the table is not a good workaround, because you will loose it when you update the table of contents. I wish, that formulas will be shown in the automatically generated table of content. This is useful, because in science some things cannot be written in pure text.
Created attachment 13776 [details] formulas difficult to substitute with pure text
I am not sure if this would ever be possible. It genereally not possible to display frames/objects/graphics which are anchored inside a heading to show in a TOC.
This is another aspect of Issue 27377 (Character formatting not retained in entries of TOC, table lists, etc.). Both issues really affect technical writers, and avoid the full acceptance of OOo from scientists. We are still binded to latex...
