In the help manual, it is not explained how to use multi-criteria filters in the
COUNTIF function.

I see that there is not any following entry since April. Could this issue be
closed or does it appear in newer versions of OOo?
Comment 4 flibby05 2004-10-30 15:47:32 UTC
changing defect -> enhancement
Comment 5 drking 2006-11-23 06:09:35 UTC
May I suggest that this issue is now closed?

There are several other ways to count and sum using multiple criteria - eg
DCOUNT, DSUM, SUMPRODUCT, SUM with array formulae - as well as simply putting in
an extra column.

I'm planning to contribute to the Help to clarify this.

The help for COUNTIF and SUMIF got improved in CWS hcshared06, which will be
integrated into OOo 2.2
