Description crxssi 2001-12-22 06:26:25 UTC
Perhaps it is just my install, but spell checker is barfing (marking incorrect)
every word. Behaves the same if autospellcheck is on- it underlines every word.
This is a fresh -net install. I tried with language set to "default" and also
"English" with no success.

The thesaurus works, though.

I searched the bug database first, of course, but there is no mention of this
yet, so I have to believe there is something different about my install.
Nothing unusual here, though. Mandrake 8.1 w/2.4.13 kernel, 256MB RAM, Athlon
1.4Ghz.

In my network install dir, /opt/OpenOffice.org641/share/wordbook/english
Are the following files:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 795 Dec 21 23:37 soffice.dic
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 666 Dec 20 06:00 sun.dic
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3284160 Dec 20 06:00 th_en_US.dat*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 517205 Dec 20 06:00 th_en_US.idx*

These messages are spit onto the command line during a spellcheck (or after
typing the very first word with autospellcheck on):

Error - could not open dictionary description file
Failure loading dictionary list
Hash Manager Error : 1
Error - could not open affix description file
/root/OpenOffice.org641/user/wordbook/en_US.aff
Failure loading aff file /root/OpenOffice.org641/user/wordbook/en_US.aff

Hi,

Yes, there is a problem with where the installer under -net places
the spell checking dictionaries.

To workaround this issue temporarily please do the following:

To enable spell checking after a setup -net:

cd MAIN_INSTALL_LOCATION/user/wordbook/
cp * ~/OpenOffice.org641/user/wordbook/

That should copy the relevant dictionary files from where the net
install mistakenly put them, to the OpenOffice.org641/user/wordbook/
in the users home directory where it needs to find them.

I am working on fixing this for the next release, but it may turn
out to be an installer issue.

This is either an bug in my changes to scp/source/lingu or a bug in
installer for setup -net.

I will look into it.

Hi,

Just submitted a patch to fix this for the next release into the
OO641C branch which should form the basis for the next builds.
