Description buschaot 2004-03-06 11:22:35 UTC
My OOo has been very slow on startup and on loading any file. As I don't have
a printer, I have no need for a printer daemon like CUPS.

When I activate CUPS, everything starts up normal.

Is it possible to start OOo without an activated printing service?

Hi,

I would propose asking about your issue on the users list first. I think it has
something to do with your network configuration, but i am really not sure, so
you should rely on the people of the first to get a faster and correct reponse
for that (users@openoffice.org).

Before posting however, please search the list archiv before.

Please give also more information concerning which distribution and which
version of OOo you are using plus any additional information that might be relevant.

Best regards,
Max Weber

TM->PL: Can you please have a look ? Thanks !
Comment 5 philipp.lohmann 2004-03-08 14:30:58 UTC
pl->tm: OOo 1.1 has moved the printer discovery into an own thread, so startup
should not be affected by an unresponsive CUPS. See issue 6431.
