Description jeff_stack 2004-03-02 01:17:06 UTC
I am using OpenOffice on a Tatung Tablet PC. I use it mostly in slate mode
where the primary input method is via a pen based interface that offers left
and right click functionality.

I use the Text document processor to add notes and use the drawing toolbar to
annotate and take quick sketches. The problem is that there is no way to drag
and select all the objects you drew in-order to group them. Currently the
only way to group drawing objects is to use the SHIFT key and then left click
to drag a selection tool over the objects to select them all. Then you can
group them.

The problem is, with a pen only, there is no way to press the shift key and so
there is no way to group objects. This is difficult because a quick sketch of
a graph figure has potentially dozens of small lines and numbers that need to
be grouped before you can drag the figure to a new location on your sheet.

Possible solution is to add a optional button on the drawing tool bar to serve
as a "shift key" that when pressed will allow the next "left click" to be read
as a "shift-left click".
