Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 25876
missing graphic if importing word document
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:41:36 UTC
http://student.ugent.be/documenten/bijkomende-richtlijnen.doc When I open this document and export it to PDF it doesn't show the figures. However when opened with word97 or higher it shows the figures. Possible workaround: open in word2000, save. Then opening in and exporting shows the figures.
This file was created with word97
Hi rgevaert, thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice... reassigned to mru
MRU->SJ: The content of the graphics does not get imported from MS format in this example.
reassigned to SJ.
I just tried to evaluate the problem, but the above mentioned url is not available. It seems that the corresponding document has been converted to pdf. Perhaps someone can retrieve the original Word document. (I am sorry for the long delay before starting this Issue, but I had too less time for bugfixes.)
I found the original file again and put it in place.

Thanks for retrieving the bugdoc. Now I am able to reproduce the problem. Due to the fact that the error happens before exporting to pdf I changed the title.
I just state my current investigation: The problem is that our pict import filter does not load the bitmap graphic, thus means the document was last edited with a mac version, Workaround so far: Just load & save the document on Windows, then the graphic is available as wmf/emf instead of pict.
Created attachment 21449 [details] added extracted graphic making the problem
