Description stefankalte 2004-02-25 16:58:57 UTC
Maybe it will be a bug or a util for using OOo instead of MsO, but certainly it
is a problem in MsO too and taken from it. Decided it!
Having over XXX templates coordinate and changing it to OOo will be a big
migration problem. so i have a main template with logos in the footer and
headling line. a lot of other templates must include them. At the moment i have
no way to have an automatic update from main template to the other templates
when ex i change the logo. I've seen there exist no way to do that.
I think developers are loosing the right way to arrive at a product that will be
a little better than MsO and helping admins to manage and reduce lost working
time for this elementar problems.

thanks for your attention

JA: AFAIK there's the possibility to have father-son relations of document
templates in OpenOffice.org if you define a default template. Maybe HI can
confirm this.

are you sure this can be classed as priority 1?

you're correct, this issue should be better given P3.
Comment 4 flibby05 2004-03-06 12:27:14 UTC

The easiest workaround would be to insert the graphics as link. Replace the
graphic but keep the same graphic name.
Comment 9 stefankalte 2004-10-25 10:57:00 UTC
i think this is not possible, but i read and tested to use "bereiche" (areas)in
the maintemplate, then i make in the son template a area where i use it as a
link and in extras/optionen i say under textdocument for links to actualize them
every time, so no dialog will apear to ask me to actualize it.
other possibility don't is working for me, because in the future, wenn the logo
will change or de denomination of the firm (we change it every 3-4 years), so i
must only change the fathertemplate and the rest is ok, the originaldocuments
will archivated als pdf.
the disadvantage is, that i can't use it in the header and in the footer.
thanks for your attention

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
