Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 25789
I cannot get lowercase greekish letters to my formula
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:55:55 UTC
Problem with greek fonts names in the formula editor: The uppercase letters are named identically to lower case. I can rename the letters in Formula editor, but these changes don't last when I reopen the program. Even the formula in the document alter when the document is reopened. I have tried OOo 1.1.0_finnish version with SUSE 8.2. and windows 98 both have the same problem. The problem doesn't occur in OOo 1.0_english version wich was distributed with SUSE.
The capitalization for most of the lowercase and some uppercase greek letters is not correct. Compare to english localization for example. File: starmath/source/symbol.src TL->DL: I looked in localization responsibility list but Finnish is listed as "Fully localized - Sun internal". Thus there is no one I can pass this one to. Can you please take care of this? If it were only capitalization in Math I could change the resources myself. (Though it would really not the usual way to go.) But asking NF and MD about the state of a Finnish translation the answer was that the SO 6 UI was fully localized only. Thus e.g. the help and everything added later probably is not. At this point I came to think if that state "Fully localized - Sun internal" should be removed and someone put in charge of the Finnish localization would be the right thing to do...
DL->SBA: Could you please handle this?
SBA: Prio changed to P3. I will clarify the responsibilities for Finnish. On http://l10n.openoffice.org/localization_responsibilities.html The only hint is that OOo 1.0 was localized SUN internal. This is no longer the case for OOo 1.1.1 ff. On http://native-lang.openoffice.org/servlets/NewsItemView?newsItemID=91 Ther is an announcement who will be in charge for finnish. A language dependant problem like this is in most cases a translation issue or a problem of the build process of the respective localized build.
SBA: Set to Worksforme. SBA->Kammi: Please verify your findings in a 680 build (680m68 or younger) and comment. Thank you.
SBA: Closed.
