Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 25783
Writer gets the formatting wrong on RTF documents
Last modified: 2004-09-14 11:54:51 UTC
I'm converting from (the now orphaned) Applix office suite to OpenOffice.org. The only file format for text documents they have in common is RTF in various flavors. However, OOo misformats the RTF documents created by Appilx Words. I'll attach a sample RTF document where OOo turns bold text and text in lists italic, even though it isn't in the original, and fails to center the first line of the document. This document is correctly read by both Ted and MS-Word. Thank you, Mike Meyer

This problem does not occur with Windows and Linux build. Seems to be a special problem with the FreeBSD port.
can anybody confirm this issue ?
I can't confirm. The document looks the same on both FreeBSD and Linux builds. mwm: can you provide screenshot of bad rendering?

I don't have OOo installed any more. Getting it reinstalled is a non-trivial task. However, the corruption was getting the fonts wrong. If you see something that looks like the image I just uploaded, then you're getting different results than I am. <mike
