Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 25653
OpenOffice conditional formatting does not work in Excel
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:15:02 UTC
I use Microsoft Excel 2000 on windows and OpenOffice1.1 on Linux. I have a document with conditional formatting. When I save this document in Microsoft Excel and I open it in OpenOffice everything works fine. When I save this document in OpenOffice and I open it in Microsoft excel, the conditional formatting is not executed... The formatting is still there, but I have to access the conditional formatting menu for every cell press OK to reactivate it again...
Hi Daniel, OC reproduced it on Calc18. Frank
Created attachment 13312 [details] Testdocument for cond formatting
Accepted. Another example of wrong formula export. Cells in C20:C27 contain conditional formats with single references to other cells. These single references confuse the formula exporter... See also issue 3724.
Created attachment 15355 [details] Modified document showing a workaround
OC: Due to high workload this issue is retargeted to office.later
See also bugdoc of issue 34474.
Created attachment 18023 [details] Another test case. Exporting this file to XLS.
Ancillary data concerning my test case attachment: 1] Document created in OOo 1.1.2 on Windows 2] Document exported to xls by above platform and read by MS Excel 2000 on same platform. Excel's complaint: "Conditional formatting cannot refer to cells on other sheets/workbooks". Removing the "Sheet1!" part of the cell reference fixed this complaint. (Note: "Sheet1!" was not a different sheet.) OOo bug: The cell references are all messed up. "A2" became "A65535" "D2" became "A65535", etc.
