Description magrawal 2004-02-07 15:48:21 UTC
In the attached document, all the paragraphs have the text body style. The text
body style has the numbering 1 style for numbering. However, when I select the
numbering tab in the style dialog, I do not see the numbering 1 style
highlighted. This indicates that though the paragraph style has been associated
with the numbering style, the numbering style is not being applied to the text.
Once consequence of this is that though I am defining the outline numbering
format by modifying the Numbering 1 style, the outline numbering is not applying
to the text.
The document was created using StarOffice 7.

Hi,
There is an additional hard numbering perhaps via symbol or automatic, I guess.
Delete that, and the numbering via paragraph-style will appear.

The numbering in the document was not created by hard-numbering, it was created
by applying numbering styles.
To fix the numbering, keep the cursor before the first character on the first
line (Spreadsheet exercises on signals) and press backspace. This takes away
numbering. Press backspace again. This converts the paragraph formatting to
Default. Then use the style painter to apply text body formatting on the first
line. This applies numbering. Now, do backspace on each line to bring it to the
previous line and press enter. This applies the numbering style as desired. This
clearly needs improvement. For example, applying the default stule to any other
paragraph does not fix the problem.
However, I found a bug in the numbering as well, which is seen in the line 2.1
Data network design case in the document TOC_2.sxw. This line should actually
have been numbered 2.4, and if you do some backspaces and returns, it does
become 2.4. But I am wondering why it gets the numbering 2.1 at all?

i think this is a duplicate, but if i remeber right i had to close the origin because i
did not get an anwer on my question how to reproduce, because i could like here

i will take a look on this tomorrow

just looked at the document, yes i was right this is the same problem. in the stylist
the text body style has the numbering1 style set but if i look at the paragraph the
style ist not set to this text. i have to set this manualy. if i enter the paragraph
dioalog format -> paraghraph and look on the nubering tab i see a BLANK entry in
the dropdownfield. this is an error it must be none ore numbering 1. an again, i
need a step by step advice on how you created this document, because i can not
reproduce creating such an error if i created it by my own. i will search for the other
document and set this as double to the other.
