Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 2511
Autoformat on large file causes immediate shutdown
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:23 UTC
Attempt to use Autoformat feature on a large text file caused immediate application shutdown, no warnings were issued. File used was the Project Gutenberg etext of Tolstoy's 'War and Peace' downloaded from: ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/metalab.unc.edu/pub/docs/books/gutenberg/etext01/wr npc10.txt Attempt to autoformat caused failure after approx 75% of the progress bar was filled. This is a vanilla install of 641b. No other applications were running.
Reassigned to Hasan.
Reproducible, please have a look what'S going on there. I've also written a task:95884.
Problem is that the collected undo actions are too much. Here must implement, like in the search, a callback to user for stop autoformat or disable the undo.
JP->DVO: Please have a look into it.

Eh, silly me. That screenshot belongs to a completely different bug. Please ignore... :-(
I've finally found some time on this... :-/ I can prevent the crash, but I need some help from other developers on the callback dialog. Hopefully, I'll get this fixed and canned on monday.

dvo: Sorry; this should not have been marked as duplicate.
dvo: This has been fixed: Now a dialog shows which asks whether to continue formatting (without undo) or whether to cancel. Unfortunately I don't remember in which version this was fixed. It is already integrated in current builds, though. The fix will be in OOo 1.1.
FIXED.
