Description lpiepho 2004-02-04 15:54:00 UTC
Typing an IP-address like 192.168.100.99 into a cell works perfectly, but
IP-addresses with three digits at the end get wrecked. Example:
192.168.100.100 becomes 192168100100
The cell properties are not changed, both numbers are standard numbers. Changing
the regioncode doesn't work either.

hi,

this is not a bug.

The thousands seperator in your locale is a point, am I right ?

So the last triplet is recognized as another thousand if the last set has three
numbers. If it has only two numbers in the last triplet, it is no valid number
and therefore converts to text.

If you need your IP's as numbers, just set the numberformat for the cell to
something showing no decimal places and thousands separators.
