Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 24976
Add linestyles to support DXF-to-PDF
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:34:14 UTC
Would like to see a "centerline" linestyle added and maybe line scale capability. This would NOT be primarily for "hand draw" but would enable the CORRECT conversion and rendering from .DXF formats into .PDF. Currently there is no freeware or "low cost" commercial product capable of doing this accurately, which leaves those of us needing to send mechanical drawings to our vendors without an affordable means to do so (since even AutoCAD LT is currently $638 under deep discount, it's NOT reasonable to expect the vendor to purchase it just to look at a .dwg or .dxf, and many shareware "viewers" are bug-laden). The current release 1.1RC4 just translates EVERYTHING into solid lines which effectively destroys the "dialog" between designer and manufacturer - but up to that point it was SO CLOSE...!
Reassigned to Bettina.
