inserting JPEGs (OLE objects) has problems

inserting JPEGs (OLE objects) has problems: 1. i cannot insert JPEGs without having opened that JPEG in Paintshop Pro 2. when inserting JPEGs this way, it works, but when it has finished it says "error activating object. General OLE error." The Jpeg remains in the file though. I have an text,object slide and want to insert that JPEG in that object field.
Please give a detailed step by step description of what you are doing and attach the file you are using. Thanks in advance.
create a text, object slide double click the object box choose a different file type and choose a JPEG file, any JPEG will work - click OK: you can't insert it - now open the JPEG in Paintshop Pro (which is my default image handler) try to insert this JPEG as an object again: it works, but the described error message appears.
What happens if you switch to another default image handler program? I have no problems here with Paint Shop Pro 7.04. You know the possibility to insert graphics using insert/Graphics...? Thanks for your help.
I know now, I didn't then. Inserting graphics as graphics not object doesn't make problems. Using Ms Paint and OOo Draw doesn't work: I can't insert the JPG objects at all. I have no other image handler.
I have tested the described case here with MS paint, Irfanview, Paintshop Pro, Openoffice1.0 and Corel PhotoPaint. The error did not occur. Which OS do you use?

Hmph, sorry, still not reproducible. I have tested this on XP here, too. Is it possible for you to have a look on another machine if it happens there ,too? If it is not reproducible I think we have to close this issue. Maybe the problem lies within your system then. Thanks again.
