Description sparg 2004-01-24 19:00:23 UTC
In the menus Edit->Repeat is stated to be assigned to F12. This is not true,
F12 has been assigned to inserting a group.

It is very useful to have a key assigned to repeat because it speeds up use.
F3 would be a good candidate as it is unused, and also close to F4 which Excel
uses for repeat, so familiar enough for people migrating.

So F3 should be assigned to repeat by default and the Edit->Repeat menu entry
updated.

This defect also applies to writer where F12 applies numbering despite the
menu claiming it to be bound to repeat. Again F3 would be a better
alternative.

Hi,

it seems that you are using a verry old version of OOo1.1, in this case a Beta.
The currently available Version does not have a shortcut key asgned to the
repeat command. There was a bug (Issue 10717) a while ago that describes the
same problem. But this one is fixed.

So I have to close this one as invalid.

It's over a year since I posted this and I'm now using 1.1.4 in Linux which
still has the same defect.

Assigning a Function key to repeat helps power users greatly.

Hi,

F12 is grouping, the bug was taht on Linux this was set by fault to be repeat.
This functionality hasn't asigned a Keypress, but you could do by yourself. Have
a look at the help system and the menu Tools-configure-keyboard.
