access for doc writers

The directory mentioned above is going to be used for publishing the already partly created german documentation on OpenOffice.org. Giving the doc-writers write access to it will make this process efficient. The doc writers who have already sent their copyright assingments will attach their public keys to this issue so they can be uploaded and access to the directory can be given.

Created a role for user cloph to administer the lang/www/de/doc project. He should be able to add documents, etc. Please let me know if you have problems. Frankly, I pessimistically expect that there might be the need of further fine-tuning your privileges. cheers, and good luck, Louis

Hi, there are two others that we would like to have access to /doc , what makes more sense, leaving this issue open or filing a new one?
The key for Christian has been installed so he should be able to establish a tunnel. I will assign this issue back to Louis to determine if he would like a new issue opened for all users requesting access to this project. If you and Louis decide to keep this issue as a container for this access I am fine with that. Thank you Kat
I can now successfully establish the ssh-tunnel and checkout the project's source-code. Unfortunately I cannot commit changes yet: User cloph doesnt have <Add> access to an entry in lang Maybe this is an user error on my side (I don't want to put something in the lang-directory but in the lang/www/de/doc-directory): I first did a cvs checkout lang/www/de/doc and then tried to add a testfile for cvs-newbies using the command cvs add testfile (after changing to the doc-dir) and I got the above error-message (User cloph ...)
Hi, user Cloph, you *only* have commit access to "lang/www/de/doc" not "../doc-directory" Of course, other things could be awry. but let's try this, first. Louis and yeah, if this doesn't work, I'll change the perms....
i don't want to change something in the lang-module itself, I just want to alter the lang/www/de/doc module. Uh, we can't give all these people access without being sure first if they have all submitted to Sun copyright forms, etc. I see no record of that and Max has not communicated to me that these people have in fact submitted their forms. I only know of Christian. Further, we then can only give commit access when expressly required by the module leader. -louis

We've got several highly motivated doc-writers working on several other documents right now.

Concerning opening a new issue for each new commtter: Sure, I can do it, but I'm not sure whether I understand you argument: If you mean the CC's- I think it's a good Idea to let the other commiters know automatically who else is going to be among them soon. Taska, this isssue is a continuing one and is used by Timon to add more key members to his fine pantheon of German scholars. So, it will be reopened as new members become key. louis
Marco reports: Hmm, still got that "Permission denied (publickey,password)." But I'm not sure my password is correct, so according to that, I'll send you a new public-key. (Marco, et al: please reopen an issue and update it if you need to gain my attention again with respect to an issue. I get hundreds of issue updates a day, and an email to the issues mailing list is highly likely to get lost.) I'll add his attachment.

Hi, Manfred Reiter cannot establish a SSH2-Tunnel using his own key. I personally tested his System/Softare-Konfiguration and, using my own Key, was able to connect from his Machine without problems. Therefore I believe that his new public key (the second one he submittet) is not on the server. Please upload his new key. Regards, Timon
Looking at the tunnel file, it does appear that the live key for Manfred is the old one. I've submitted the change request to the operations group.

Hi Louis, unfortunately my CVS dosn't work. Here what im doing: I'm working with Linux. 1. I'm logged in as manfred 2. I am working in the directory /home/manfred 3. there are existing the following directories ./ssh with the public and the privat key (the public-key i send to you via Issuezilla) /cvsdir 4. Then I in write in the X-Terminal to open the tunnel ssh -2 -x -L 2401:localhost:2401 tunnel@openoffice.org 5. Manfred, My guess is that there is a mismatch between your pub key and the one we loaded. Taska: did we load Manfred's latest key? it might behooves us to start all over again. that is, manfred: send us a new key. louis

Hi, everything works nicely, exept: Andreas Hausmann can't access the repository. He has never been able to establish a connection, but we didn't pursue this up to now because other things seemed more urgent at the time. This issue might have come into existance like the on with Manfred. Andreas, too, had submitted a second key to replace the first, which seems to have gone wrong, too. What do you propose? Same thing that worked in Manfreds case, which is starting over with a completely new key? Thank you for your patience!
Hi, Before we go anywhere, let's see if A's key was really loaded... Taska, do you want to check? Second, if it was.... 1. Can andreas tunnel at all? to another site? 2. what are the error messages? 3. Try this, instead of tunneling to OpenOffice.org (name): ssh -2 -x -L 2401:localhost:2401 tunnel@64.125.132.236 That's using the IP no. 4. If he does have the key loaded, and still cannot tunnel... hmm. What operating system, what set up is he using? if linux, beats me. Linux *works.* if windoze, gee, anything could be going on. cheers, Louis
I traced the old internal issues back through Jan. 2, and discovered that though the operations team verified my request complete on 1/23, the key in the database is still the old key, not the new one. I've re-opened the internal issue with a new request to replace the old key with the new one.
The operations group says that Andreas H's new key has now been added.

Timon, Unfortunately Andreas's key appears to be an RSA key. He needs to submit a DSA key, like the last two keys (beginning with ssh-dss), in order for us to upload it. I'm reassigning to Andreas.

Hi Martin! I think you use the wrong settings for the cvs-access. You have to use other settings than for the anonym access. Please use the discuss_de-mailinglist to get more informations --- Ich denke, dass du die falschen Einstellungen für den CVS-Zugriff verwendest. Hi helga tried to join and did as an observer; as did Martin. But Stefan and I agreed to limit the options of users coming to projects so that they could only opt for "observer" status. Thus, to allow her and Martin to join as developers, I must change that for them. But I don't want all to have that option. it is a pain. Not of their causing; the site is just too busy for all those using it. louis
