Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 24726
Avoid direct conversions to US units
Last modified: 2013-07-30 02:17:49 UTC
After installing and choosing US units (inches), all the units have simply been directly converted from their SI counterparts. So tab spacing is, for example, 0.79 inches. During installation, the units system should determine the values to use as defaults - not simply convert from one to the other. Tab spacing in US system should default to 0.5 inches.
Changing the *display* unit does not (and must not) change the values. On systems using non-metric locales the actual values are non-metric, too. At least on my system it works that way. So if your locale settings were correctly set to inches you should already get what you want. And BTW: this is by no means a Priority 1. What system are you working on an which locale settings do you have?
