Description josanabr 2004-01-05 20:50:57 UTC
Greetings,

i'm an user of spreadsheet in it i keep the qualifications of my students. I got
a problem when i put this formula in a cell (e10):

=(b10+c10)/2*,75+d10*,25

the values in:
b10 = 5
c10 = 4,9
d10 = 5

the result that i got is: 4,94642

but, in the same computer using kcalc the result is: 4.9625. This difference is
important when i have to round up with 4.94 is aprox 4.9, with 4.96 is aprox 5.

Thanks for your attention.

No problem on OOo 1.1.0 on French win2k SP4.

What distro of linux do you use ?
Did you tested on an other computer with Linux ?
Do you mix comma/dot as decimal separator ?

Cannot reproduce on OOo 1.1.1a / Redhat 9.
Decimal commas yield errors, with decimal points I get the correct answer.

Can you attach a sample document with the error?

Added myself to CC

Hi,

I'm sorry to tell you that I also can't reproduce the described behaviour.

I've checked it on Sun's Java Desktop System (Linux based on SUSE 8.2) with OOo
1.1.0 .

Have you compiled the Office suite by yourself, maybe on an gentoo Linux system
? This sounds like problems with compiler flags for optimizations.

Hi,

as noone can reproduce this behaviour and the document asked for never arived,
I've to assume this was an user error and this Issue can be closed.

So I do it.
