Description nthjam001 2004-01-02 23:44:11 UTC
I've created the presentation template attached. It is a 1st attempt at
templates. When I create a document from the template, the gradient (horizontal
grey-white) background changes to a vertical black white?

I removed some of the images and text from the template, but the problem persists.

I've tried to re-create the problem but wasn't successful - I've assigned this a
lower priority.

Thanks

When I open the template it has a linear, 0 degrees, black to white gradient. Is
this the wanted one or is this yet the error? Do I get you right, you cannot
reproduce the problem? Thanks in advance.

The expected gradient should be a white->light grey gradient at 90 Degrees.

If you right-click on the gradient background, select 'Area', you will see I
created a separate gradient called 'gradient 7'. This was the gradient that was
origionally set for the area of the background rectangle.

I tested some more after submitting the report. I've put the gradient 'gradient
7' on the background, and the rectangle (with the origional blue gradient)
suddenly has the 'gradient 7' fill. (I've attached a screen shot)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the template file oo_template.sti.
2. Right-click on the background rectangle (currently the black-white 0 degree
gradient fill)
3. select 'Area'
4. in the list of gradients, select 'gradient 7', a white-light grey gradient at
90 deg.
Note that there is a blue gradient filled rectangle in front of the white-light
grey background rectangle.
5. Save the template file as oo_template.sti

Create a new document from this template

6. File -> new -> Templates and Documents
7. Navigate to, and select oo_template.sti
8. The new document opens. Note that the rectangle that was blue gradient filled
is now incorrectly filled with 'gradient 7'. The background rectangle is
correctly filled with 'gradient 7'

If you now open the template, you will see that it has the foreground rectangle
incorrectly filled with 'gradient 7'. It would appear that when saving the
template, the gradient fill for the origionally blue rectangle has been
incorrectly replaced with 'gradient 7'.

I have managed to reproduce this 3 times on OpenOffice 1.1.0 running on a
Mandrake linux 9.2 workstation.

Whilst this is not the exact problem that was reported, this is related to the
fact that the rectangles in this file appear to loose their gradient
fills when saving as templates.

I have successfully created another template that does not exhibit this behaviour.

Could this file be corrupted in some way?

WG could reproduce the bug.
Please have a look.
