Description john.mccreesh 2003-12-31 17:59:20 UTC
<a href="mailto:einfeldt@earthlink.net">Christian Einfeldt<a/> posted a review
of OOo books on the marketing list a few weeks back. With his permission, I've
copied it into html and wondered if you could find a home for it on the
Documentation project, e.g. http://documentation.openoffice.org/book_reviews.html

Thanks - John

Weird, I was just thinking of starting this up. ;-)

I am the Doc Maintainer for Documentation Project. I will definately look into
this. Actually, Louis, the OOo web admin, has been looking at something like
this as well. I'll see where he is at on it.

Thanks.

Book review of "OOoSwitch: 501 Things You Wanted to Know About Switching to
OpenOffice.org From Microsoft Office"

"To make OpenOffice.org a more appealing option, Granor has written
this detailed and helpful manual, which is filled with step-by-step
instructions on how to replace costly Microsoft Office deployments with
open-source applications while maintaining office productivity and
adequate features."

I have added a Book Review location under documentation. Please look it over
and offer any comments you may have about the site so far.

Thanks.

OK, I know I'm stoopid, but I looked on http://documentation.openoffice.org/ and
couldn't see it?

Dude, your not stupid. I forgot to post the link. I don't have it on the main
page so we can flesh it out a bit.

Please find the pages at:

http://documentation.openoffice.org/book_reviews/books.html

If you have any ideas about it feel free to talk about them here or join the
Documentation dev mailing list.

I am going to add a "Community Comments" section below the descriptions as well.

I'll close this issue when the Book Reviews section hits the main page.

Definitely a good idea. On the Wiki at
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation it is easy now for
everyone to create and edit such pages without administrative overhead.
