on installation I get a meassage that icudt22l.dll cannot bew found in the path.
There is no such dll anywhere on my windows 2000 system 9either of them) nor is 
it in the i386 folder

I've tried to reproduce on my W2K machine. No such dll is on the machine,
Installation is runing fine and finishes without error messages. Have you
checksummed your downloaded file?. Please retry to download from
ftp://ftp.stardiv.de/pub/OpenOffice.org/stable/1.1.0/. These files are ok. For
further support please ask at users@openoffice.org. It's a mailing list that
might provide some help. You should give some additional informations about your
 system: CPU, diskspace, OS, OS version, language, running processes and sorftware.

I can't reproduce with OOo 1.1.1 rc
