Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23910
Cannot Resize inserted formula Object
Last modified: 2005-01-29 22:46:02 UTC
After inserting a Formula Object into any OpenOffice application (Write, Calc, Draw, etc) is no possible to resize it directly using the mouse, the cursor near the corners show a circle with a line, but if we acess the position and size dialog box we can see in the Size tab that the Protect checkbox is checked. After uncheck it is possible to resize the object but only once, after that the Protect checkbox returns to be checked.
MRU->BH: In OO it is forbidden to resize Math objects generally because of the horrible results. In Writer it is not possible to switch off the size protection via UI (value seems to be stored internally). But in Draw/Impress it is... a little bit inconsistent.
Are you saying won't fix, or is this possible going to changed some day. It doesn't really sound like an issue. Rather it sounds like expected behavior.
duplicate, see issue 8881 as well Let me put it this way: it is unlikely to have it implemented in near future. You can always take the step and copy the formula to draw, choose "break" (optionally group the parts) and copy it back to Writer and resize it as you'd like. The other possibility is to use the "size" operator in your formula. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 5266 ***
