Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23782
Stylist Window size is not optimized
Last modified: 2004-02-05 17:35:40 UTC
This actually reported in OOo 1.1 and 1.1.1a. (but I cannot find 1.1.1a) We need to resize the Stylist window default, to be more optimized. Now to many area used, which causing editing in resolution 800x600 little bit disturbed by size of the stylist. if we reduce it so no blank area will be better. I will attach screenshoot
Created attachment 12066 [details] deafult stylist windows, too many blank area
Created attachment 12067 [details] proposed size, no not disturbing editing in low resolution
SBA: My thoughts: - The Stylist's size can be adjusted at will and this size will be stored. - The "space" between the icons marks that they are different groups, thus it's not "lost space" - Checking the "hierarchical" setting and unfolding the "tree" shows that even the default width of the stylist is not always enough - 600x800 is not the usual resolution of a system that's halfway up-to-date - Last not least: There are languages with a string length up to 3 times the English ones. My conclusion: It makes no sense in keeping such issues open forever (There is "bigger fish to catch" for the developers now while working on OOo 2.0 and there still will be bigger fish to catch in a year or two). Closed as "Wontfix"
SBA: Closed.
