Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23692
Hyperlink Dialog crashes on <ENTER>
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
When editing a document that is a web document (HTML), and inserting a hyperlink by pressing the Hyperlink Dialog button in the toolbar, you can type a hyperlink address into the "Target" field, and if you press <ENTER> to dismiss the dialog, OpenOffice.org 1.1.0 freezes temporarily. It ignores any requests to redraw it's own window, giving the appearence of a total freeze, however, after a few minutes it resumes normal operation. The bug is reproducable, at least on my own system (Linux 2.4.22 and libc 2.3.2). In the Windows version (OpenOffice.org 1.1.0, Windows 2000, without a service pack installed), the problem is non-existant.

I can't reproduce it. - Which distribution/window manager do you have? - which macvhine configuration do you have? - Can someone else in the Community reproduce it?
Slackware 9.1, running under KDE 3.1.4, with the default configuration for KDE. It's a Uniprocessor Celeron, running Linux 2.4.22, and OpenOffice.org 1.1.0, downloaded and installed from the website approx. a week ago. It's possible to try it when editing the document at http://chadeux.homelinux.net/ ~shell/index.html - that is the document which caused the problem, if it's related to a specific document. However, in starting an instance of OOo, and doing it in a completely empty document with the text "This is a link to Google...", highlighting 'Google', and clicking the Hyperlink button, if I press <ENTER>, OOo hangs for roughly three minutes, not doing anything, ignoring window redraw requests, yet "top" shows that it is "Sleeping". It will come out of that state and return to Running after it's done being hung.
*Correction from last comment - if I type 'http://www.google.com/' in the Target box, and press <ENTER>, is what I did.
Sorry, I really can't reproduce it! Do you still have this problem using 1.1.1?
