Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23586
OOWriter incorrectly imports "Personal Ancestral File" RTF files - Bad layout/alignment
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:26:12 UTC
The attached RTF file is created by "Personal Ancestral File" in MS Windows. MS Office 97 without fail correctly renders the document. However, OOWriter never does. Specifically, OOWriter seems not to correctly understand the Template structure used by PAF. This may be an oddity of PAF's export function, I don't know.
Created attachment 11970 [details] An RTF file exported from "Personal Ancestral File"
Personal Ancestral File: http://productsupport.familysearch.org/supportroot/eng/frameset_products.asp
Reassigned to MRU
MRU->CMC: the frames onpage three are completely missing. Other issues, regarding textframes not correctly overlapping is a thing Od, I think.
Accepted, rtf frame problem
cmc->mmaher: More of frames in rtf. Perhaps you should amalgamate the issues into one and close the duplicates in this area.
I've since discovered a further (probably related issue which I didn't point out before. The problem is that the last page is left completely blank. There should be information on it as one can see by opening the RTF in a text editor. For example the strings "George Allman" and "Dublin Hanover St.27" are in the RTF source but cannot be seen or searched for in ooWriter. I'm attaching another RTF file here.
Okay, I can't actually figure out how to add a file. I've done it before above but I can't figure it out here now. So I'm leaving it for download below and if someone closer to ninja status with this bugtracker can add it that would be great, thanks. http://fiachra.ucd.ie/~gavin/PedigreeMcCullaghMerielIOW.rtf
retargeted to OO later due to limited resources.
mmaher->flr: Your's methinks
reassigning to hbrinkm
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
