Description ilwinguru 2003-12-14 02:48:41 UTC
I installed OO RC5 (Hebrew) and discovered that the page sizes are all wildly
incorrect. For example, A4 paper shows up as 119 cm x 119 cm with margins on
all sides of 12.9 cm. Other sizes show similar bizarre figures. Incidentally, a
new document is OK as long as I don't attemtp to adjust the page size.
orientation, text direction, etc.

If I try manually setting the correct measurements, they change back as soon as
I move to a diffent field. Margins get worse.

I'm using Windows 2000 with SP4.

Steps I've taken to correct this- none of which made any difference:
1. install alternative printer
2. completely remove and reinstall OO RC5
3. Change default settings in Regional options of windows to metric from US

set target to OOo later
Comment 2 h.ilter 2004-01-08 14:05:27 UTC
Do you have this problem only with the word processor or also with other
applications like Spreadsheet and draw...
Comment 3 ilwinguru 2004-01-13 18:23:48 UTC
The problem exists in all modes of soffice- spreadsheet, presentation, drawing
and write.
Comment 4 Martin Hollmichel 2004-04-27 15:04:45 UTC
reassign and set target.

mh->os: maybe you can give a hint where to look for these settings ?
Comment 5 alan 2004-04-28 16:12:40 UTC
This bug was caused by translating the unit measurements in
vcl/source/src/units.src to Hebrew. They have been restored to their original
values. We rebuilt OOo with this change and we found that it solved the problem.
The fixed SDF file is attached.

The fix is the in SDF file attached to this issue.
Comment 8 ilwinguru 2004-04-28 19:25:40 UTC
I didn't try the SDF for RC5 b/c when I went to download it, I saw that there
release 1.1 was available. The issue has been fixed for 1.1. I would have tried
it except that I uninstalled RC5 Hebrew a while ago and was working with the
English version RC4.

A patch to solve this problem while keeping Hebrew translations for the unit
strings can be found attached to Issue 69080.
