Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23517
GUI Incorrectly Updates Directory
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:25:38 UTC
If you are in the file manager (test only on Linux), and are navigating, and double-click on a directory that you don't have access to, OO corretly reports that permission was denied for that directory. However, it then updates the GUI file manager and indicates your current working directory as being in that directory that you don't have access to.
reassigend to jw i will have a look on this
i can confirm this, after the message "Access to /root was denied." the graphical dialog still shows the / directory but the textinfo above shows /root set prio from p3 to p4 reassigend to tm can you please take a look on this.
not reproduceable on Solaris and RedHat Linux 9 using OOo1.1.1RC (Linux) and OOo1.1.1RC3 (Solaris)
Still doing it for me on RH 8.0. Just tested it on 680m30 and it's still doing the same thing as 1.1 did. Attaching screenshots, first one is clicking on a directory I don't have access to and OO correctly reporting that to me. The second shows that after dialog box is closed, the file manager make it appear that I have have navigated into that directory.
Created attachment 13995 [details] Click on directory with no access, correctly reports that.
Created attachment 13996 [details] Closed dialog box, file manager updates incorrectly and shows me in the directory.
TM->FS: Reproducible in both OOo1.1.1 and 680m34-5 builds. Please have a look, thanks !

This is still broken in OOo 2.0 on Linux. Should we move this to a 2.0 issue so it gets picked up during the current development cycle?
With the current roadmap (being short before a Beta for 2.0), we'd have a hard time argueing that a P4 is worth a "OOo 2.0" target. In other words: no, we shouldn't :).
