When I was drawing a poster in Draw, I was able to insert a new slide. I could
browse to the old slide with the navigator, but I couldn't remove the new slide.
I had to save the document as an impress file (.sxi), open the document with
impress and select the slide view to be able to delete the new slide.

I have added a link

You know that the document is in the layer view at the moment? Just leave it
(uncheck view/layer) and the slide can be deleted using  Edit/delete slide or
right click on the slide tab and use delete slide.
