Description iwtpoo 2003-12-07 08:21:18 UTC
I wanted to resize all of my footnotes in the text document, but OO permits to
mark only each footnote for itself. As I have quite a number of them, I wanted
to mark all and than resize the font. Consequently I have to resize each
footnote for itself, which is plenty of work.

There's no need to select all footnotes to change the font.
The footnote symbol can be changed by modifying the character style "Footnote
anchor" and the text in the footnote by modifying the paragraph style "Footnote".

Anyway, the selection of multiple footnotes is possible. Hold down the Ctrl key
while selecting text with the mouse.

I feel I should reopen this issue, because ...

Imagine you have a text document of (i.e.) 100 pages and in average each single
page has 2-3 footnotes ... Than I would need to mark each of the 200-300
footnotes one-by-one and finally set the font size.

I expect to place the cursor into a footnote, select 'edit, select all' and have
all footnotes in the document to be marked. That is the way it runs in MS
Office. The text document is split into the text and the footnotes.

Anyway a way should be found to mark all footnotes by quick way. Isn't it ?

Look at the footnote style. Mark all footnotes with Footnote style (set to
Format > Default first, then Double click on Footnote style in the Stylist. By
setting all footnotes to the same style, the only thing you need to do to change
all the footnotes at once is to click on "Footnote" style and "Modify" and
change it to what you want. If you need something unique for a particular
footnote, make the change directly in the footnote and the change you make will
stay with that footnote and that one, only.

set to invalid, due the comment of rblackeagle, this is the fastest and the
easiest way to do this.
