Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 23051
When JRE is not available radio button must be in "do not using java"
Last modified: 2022-10-28 12:27:02 UTC
When we install OOo at computer without java, now the radio button still at the use java. This is wrong. it must be in the do not using java. IN star office it will offering to install Java, but because in OOo we didnt include JRE, so the correct one is on the do not using java, which didnt make user confuse, and can continue the installation just by hitting next. Thanks.
We have decided to set the default to 'use an existing Java'. The default on an option that offers restricted OOo use is not desired. For OOo 2.0 we will change the behaviour at installation completely but we won't touch it in 1.1.x.
Like OF stated, we change the install behavior for OO.org 2.0. All the Java related stuff will move into tools options. From my point of view we should not change the default, because this asures that OO.o works. And this is the most important thing for nearly all users.
