I can't reproduce the bug.
Please send me the document or tell me where I can download it.
I need the file to reproduce the bug.

utomo > davidagsmith:
Christian cannot reproduce it, so we need the file to be analized.
please send to cgu@openoffice.org or the URL to download that documents

(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is small,
but we still able to see the problem.

That's two users who have had this problem, so I'm confirming.
Sure would be nice if we had an example document, though...
I guess I'll try to put one together.

I created a presentation with OOo1.1.0 with seven very large gif's,
and was able to save it fine on Linux (total size 70MB).
I was also able to load it fine on WinMe with OOo1.1beta.

We need better instructions on how to repeat this bug.

I have uploaded a 19MB presentation that tends to crash OpenOffice on windows
when imported (it imported ok on linux):

I'm responcible for the PPT im-export testing and I downloaded the file after
sforbes have uploaded the file.
But I can't reproduce the bug with this file either.
I'll test it again soon.

I could not reasonably send you the presentation because it is HUGE! Over 30 MB.
I de-installed OOo_1.1.0 and installed OOo_1.1.1a in its place. The presentation
opened fine. I can't tell you what is going on with 1.1.0, but my problem seems
to be solved with the newer version, so I am happy :)
Comment 11 christian.guenther 2004-02-13 14:20:21 UTC
I still can't reproduce the bug.
Can anybody else reproduce the bug?
Does the bug still occures in the OOo1.1 or OOo1.1.1b?
Comment 12 davidagsmith 2004-02-13 14:45:15 UTC
hi, sorry to be daft, but can you tell me how to get 1.1.1 or 1.1.1b as
mentioned, and I'll verify if the fault goes away with that issue, I can't find
it on the website.

my current version is 1.1.0.

Best, David.

Hi David

On the Openoffice.org homepage
-> Download
->Pre-release Developer Build 1.1.1b

Regards
Christian
Comment 14 christian.guenther 2004-03-08 13:54:05 UTC
Please tell me if installing the 1.1.1b (latest -> OOo1.1.1rc) helps you.
Comment 15 davidagsmith 2004-03-08 14:18:00 UTC
Hi all, I managed to get 1.1.1b, and that works fine! At the moment if someone
sends a huge file, I use 1.1.1b to convert it to OOO format, then work on the
(presumably more stable) 1.1.0.

Best Regards, David.

CL has done a fix for the PPT-Import.
The fix is integrated in the src680m29.
Please have a look if the bug still occures in a version later then m29.
Comment 17 davidagsmith 2004-03-08 15:31:45 UTC
Great news about the fix! How do I download it?

Thx David.
Comment 18 christian.guenther 2004-03-08 17:03:40 UTC
In the meantime there is an OOo1.1.1rc.
This version is more stable then the OOo1.1.0 and the OOo1.1.1b
The version contains mostly bugfixes for the OOo1.1.0.
The fix I talked about is a fix for the src680 (OOo2.0). It fixes the bug that
many PPT-files can't be loaded in the src680.
If the loading of big files works with the OOo1.1.1b (or OOo1.1.1rc) you don't
need to download the fix.

regards
Christian

I close this issue.
Please reopen it if you can still reproduce the bug in the latest version
(OOo1.1.1 ; src680m32 Snapshot Developer Release)
