Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 22946
Excessive spacing around OLE formulae
Last modified: 2004-04-26 16:38:08 UTC
The ability to insert formulae into a document is a great feature of OO. To be of practical use for writing of mathematical documents, however, one needs to be able to mix equations freely into text. Example: We consider functions of the form 'u(a)=%beta_1 a_1 + %beta_2 a_2 + dotsaxis' Consider the case where '%beta_1 > 0' ... Presently OO inserts very large spaces around the equations. This is particularly noticeable when an equation is the first element on the line of a paragraph!
select the formula in writer, format->object->wrap-> change left and right to 0. For all formulas F11 to get the stylelist, select frame styles and right click on "Formula" and change the wrapping there for all "Formula" frames. I agree that it might be better to make 0 the default

The derfault spacing has been set to 0,2 on insertion of Math-objects. This will be changed for OO 2.0 (see issue 22136). As cmc described, as workaround sewt the spacing to 0,00 in the object properties. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 22136 ***
