Description Unknown 2003-11-24 00:52:54 UTC
The insert graphics utility located under the insert menu on the menu bar
fails to properly insert all encapsulated postscript files into Open Office
presentations. I included two screenshots of the issue. The first
screenshot shows a .jpg and an .eps image side by side in Adobe Photo Shop.
The image size of both pictures is 200x146. Notice that the .eps image is
identical to the .jpg file. The next screenshot show an example of the
insertion issue in open office presentation. Thank You.

Reproduction procedure:
1.Opened Open Office 1.1.0 Presentation;
2.Create an empty presentation;
3.Choose a blank slide;
4.Choose Insert -> Graphics from the file menu;
5.Select a .jpg file and insert it into a blank presentation;
6.Save the same .jpg file as a .eps file;
7.Insert the .eps file the same way as steps 4-5.

Would it be possible to attach the two used files to this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Reproducible. We have regression here.
Comment 8 wolframgarten 2003-12-01 15:26:55 UTC
Reassigned to Sven. Please have a look. Thanks.

SJ->WG: Why do you mean we have a regression ? Is it because the eps preview
graphic is displayed just black & white ? OOo is not capable to render eps
files, therefore you have programs like Adobe Photo Shop or GhostView.
OOo is able to display the preview graphic only, and it seems that the
application who created the eps file, was not storing a colored preview.

However, the graphic should be printed fine on postcript printers supporting color.
Comment 10 wolframgarten 2004-01-30 08:19:49 UTC
I said regression because the eps file inserted in a document in version OOo 1.0
shows a black and white eps. When you insert the same file into a document in
version 1.1.0 you get only a placeholder. Back to you.

Ok, sorry for that. There was a misunderstanding. Taking this back.
Comment 12 wolframgarten 2004-01-30 10:20:25 UTC
As the developer posted above OO is not able to render a eps files and the
preview seems to be black and white. Closing this issue as worksforme.
