Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 22615
Cannot reset arrow for line
Last modified: 2004-02-06 07:32:57 UTC
Setting line end arrows works fine; after opening the Format/Line dialog, both arrow styles are set to "none"; setting of all arrow styles works except for "none", which means that one can't remove the arrow(s).
Please give a detailed step by step description of what you are doing (the follow up, which buttons you use, etc.). Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I missed the first reply. The problem with identical code (copied the directory where openoffice is installed) only occurs on one of two machines. Both run with SuSE 8.2, the only difference being: KDE 3.1.4 + qt 3.2.1 (where I'm having the problem) KDE 3.1.1 + qt 3.1.1 (where it works) The steps are: - open a new text document - draw a line using the draw functions - add an arrow (dialog format->line) - close the dialog, arrow is there - make sure the line is selected (or reselect, doesn't matter) - open the format->line dialog now both arrow styles show "- none -", not the actual settings of the arrow. resetting to any other arrow style works, but not resetting to "none" (when selecting "none" and closing the dialog, the arrow remains there; when selecting another arrow style, it is being changed for the line)
Does the error happen on the machine with the copy of the office directory? Please try to do a complete installation there. Thanks.
Reinstalled (the same version that works on the other machine); same result. I tried the copy before only to be sure that it's really the same code running here. Anything else I can check? (How is the "none" entry handled differently? Null value?)
Sorry, still not reproducible. Has the development any idea what this might be?
AW->WG: Sorry, cannot reproduce either, works pretty well here. But as far as i know the selection list in the dialog is filled with default arrow types coming from some configuration file. So, there might be a problem with the pathes in extras/options or that files missing. For the names and pathes of that config files please ask CL.
After applying some system patches and upgrading to KDE 3.2(beta) yesterday the problem disappeared; before it was reliably reproducable. I have no idea how much of this problem was caused by OpenOffice - in any case, it works for me now as well. It is still exactly the same OpenOffice installation, so this was most certainly not related to any configuration issue.
If it works now - fine. since we haven't got any other issues discribing the same problem I think we can close it here. If you have any future problems with this please feel free to reopen the issue or write a new one. Thanks for your help.
