This is a problem one this !!! 

We have some Word documents at work which will crash Open Office during the loading / importing stage. Unfortunately these documents are company confidential. I've tried removing the confidential bits so I can attach one, but invariably at some point they become quite readable by Open Office !

The problem is NOT present in the Window$ version of Open Office.

Can someone guide me in the best way to proceed on this issue ?

Still unable to send the origina document but I have attached some 5
other files (zipped up) that all cause OO (641C) to crash when
attemtping to open them. Hope this helps at least some !

These files all do crash also in the Windoze version of OpenOffice.
This is fixed already in our inhouse version. The fix will reach the
public with the next version of OpenOffice.

Tested with openOffice 1.0.1 and 643.
