I wonder if using localized names for the greek letter symbols is a good thing:
what if I write %alfa (using my Italian version), save the document, and send it
to a British colleague? Is the symbol coded in a standard way in the .sxw file?

I think that english symbols should be always accepted, even in localized
versions, to enhance compatibility.

The same thing applies to the function names in Calc, but this is another story
(should I cross-post it?)

This will not be a problem... For OO 1.1 all symbols are coded in the
same way, the localized names are only used for the localized UI.
I don't think, if it is a good thing, to accept english names in every
localized version. As long as OO is an international product, we
should not want to previlege a certain language.
