Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 22366
rtf corruption with $Log$ cvs tag
Last modified: 2004-01-26 11:45:31 UTC
Hi, If I include a $Log$ cvs tag into an rtf document, the file gets corrupted and I cannot read the file anymore. This issue does not happen when the same file is created with MSWord. It has to do with the way cvs expands the tag when the file is committed. It replicates the begining of the line on each new line it creates, but does not create the closing curly braces } MSWord does not the same. Maybe it's luck, but it works and I am stuck with it until I can edit a CVS rtf containing a $Log$ tag. I am trying to convince workmates to switch to openoffice, but here, I am hitting a wall. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. -o- kk1
Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test it/faster to confirm. (Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more time) Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is small, but we still able to see the problem.

MRU->CMC: Do you have an Idea about a "$Log$ cvs tag" in RTF without having a bugdoc?
Created attachment 11188 [details] my example
Dunno what the problem might be, the example I attach doesn't seem to show any change from import to export that could cause a problem (at least when done with my latest portlaoisefilterteam16 workspace). I think we need an example from the original submitter that is known to cause problems. (though I think using cvs directives in rtf documents is a bit of a flaky idea, but if you can get away with it in word, then we should try to let you get away with it in OOo as well :-))
kelk1, please attach the offending document to this issue, so that we can reproduce and fix the problem here. You can also send the document directly (mru@openoffice.org) for the case it contains confidential data. Feel free to re-open the issue when you've done. Thanks for supporting us!
