I have a spread sheet containing four sheets. The first sheet does a sum of a 
range of cells from the fourth sheet. =SUM('Sheet 4'.H4:H6).. Later I needed 
to expand the range to go to H9 not H6. I double clicked on the cell on the 
first sheet (sheet 1) and it highlighted the area that (H4:H6) but on the 
first sheet. Clicking on the fourth sheet just appended the data to end of 
this formula.

could not reproduce your problem.

Please attach a document showing this behaviour and describe step by
step what you're doing.
