this path will be just used if you opened a document after first start
or if you create a new document and choose save as.

for the open dialog OOo will take the last path you opend a document
from.

Jack, I understand your explanation, but you didn't test the issue
like I do.

If ...

--> you change the "My Documents" path to a other folder different of
the "C:\My Documents" standard
--> and close the OO Writer in following,
--> and if you run again the Writer and "open a file", the window
shows the My Documents folder and not the other folder that I set in
"Options". Is it wrong, ok?

The "Path" in "Options" shows exactly the folder that I set, but it
doesn´t run to OPEN A FILE. It runs very well to SAVE A FILE.

Try that sequence and you will perceive the problem.

Thanks!

sorry but i don't think that i misunderstand your first post.

as i said, the setting for "My Documents" just works for the Save as"
on a new created document. the file open dialog just will open on that
location you opend the last document from.

many users like the feature that the open file dialog remembers the
directory the last worked in.

please open a file out of the directory you set the "My Document" path
to. than close the office, reopen the office and call the file open
dialog again, you must see that it opens in the directory you opened
the last file from.

Sorry, I understand now. So this is a change of OO 1.1!!

I thought it were a issue, because all previous versions of OO and
StarOffice (and all Word versions) use the "Path" to open a file of a
specific folder location on the first time that those programs run.

Sorry again, but it doesn't make sense for me this new situation,
because if I have a standard doc folder, I want open docs this folder
in the most times, and ocasionally open the docs of the other location
or of the last location.

Because this intention, there is the option for I set a folder that I
need to work "into them". If the path exists ONLY to use "save as",
it´s strange for me.

" the file open dialog just will open on that
location you opend the last document from."

YES, all programs run this manner, this is not a problem for me, but
they doesnÂ’t run in this manner when they run the first time.

In the first time all programs open the location set in the "Path".
And the OO 1.1 doesnÂ’t run in this manner.

”many users like the feature that the open file dialog remembers the
directory the last worked in.”

But the most of people want (and need) to open files of a specific doc
folder. This is more important situation, and this was possible in all
previous versions of programs through the "Path" resource.

Sorry my English!

Thanks for your patience!
