Created attachment 10942 [details] Source file in MS-Word format
Using OO AutoPilot Document COnverter to convert document after copying to Linux box from WindowsXP.
please attach Screenshot on Word of the original doc. Thanks
reassigned to mru
The attached file is not a Word document. It more looks like a .txt file. Also MS Word recognizes it as a Plain Text file.
ES: same as MRU..., it's not a text file, a binary file which cannot be associated with any program (has not magic at the top of file)... It looks like the source file is a truncated file.

Created attachment 11005 [details] Here is a screenshot of the kimnotes.doc file open in MS-Word.
The example document was created using MS-Word 2002 (10.2627.2625), and contains a table of contents as the 1st page. It is definetly a MS-Word file, and I make modifications to it daily. Could it be the Table of contents that is causing the problems?, or is the file getting corrupted as it moves through this system? I know it is a good MS-Word file on this end. I will try a conversion again with the Table of Contents removed, to see what happens.
After creating a new version of the document, and moving it to the Linux Box, it appears that the file is corrupted! When I open the copy on my Windows machine, it looks good, however after copying it to the Linux box using SAMBA, I am unable to open the Linux copy. It appears that my problem is NOT with Open Office, but with SAMBA. I copied the file from the Windows box to a floppy, and then ran the OO converter against this file, and it worked fine. THANKS! for the help.
You're welcome! ;)
