The attached file is not a Word document. It more looks like a .txt file.
Also MS Word recognizes it as a Plain Text file.
Comment 7 eric.savary 2003-11-05 17:29:33 UTC
ES: same as MRU..., it's not a text file, a binary file which cannot
be associated with any program (has not magic at the top of file)...
It looks like the source file is a truncated file.

The example document was created using MS-Word 2002 (10.2627.2625),
and contains a table of contents as the 1st page. It is definetly a
MS-Word file, and I make modifications to it daily. Could it be
the Table of contents that is causing the problems?, or is the file
getting corrupted as it moves through this system? I know it is a
good MS-Word file on this end. I will try a conversion again with
the Table of Contents removed, to see what happens.
Comment 11 Unknown 2003-11-06 13:42:39 UTC
After creating a new version of the document, and moving it to the
Linux Box, it appears that the file is corrupted! When I open the
copy on my Windows machine, it looks good, however after copying it
to the Linux box using SAMBA, I am unable to open the Linux copy.

It appears that my problem is NOT with Open Office, but with SAMBA.

I copied the file from the Windows box to a floppy, and then ran the
OO converter against this file, and it worked fine.

THANKS! for the help.
