Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 21983
Configuration data access failure
Last modified: 2004-03-19 10:29:40 UTC
I get the message [Open Office]cannot be started due to an error accessing the configuration data. Please contact your system administrator. The following internal error has occurred: GetStorage, name:"No Content! I have uninstalled and re-installed but it made no difference. I have just installed an ABIT NF7-M motherboard (integrated GeForce MX graphics) It's probably irrelevant but Netscape 7.1 isn't working either.
I can't reproduce with 1.1.0 (final) version. Please use the newest version. Starting setup in OOo program folder and choosing repair might help.
We have discussion in dev mailing list about getstorage problem. and to analize getstorage problem, we need the following information. please help to provide more info. Thanks - exact system description - where is the location of the user directory that can be found in sversion.ini/.sversiorc ? - look into the Common.xcu file both in share and user tree of the registry; do you find any entries for the pathes named "UserConfig" and "UIConfig" ? - which pathes do you find? - where are they located? - if it's a network drive: what system is running on that machine? - do you have write access to them under the user that runs OOo? - provide the setup .log (for net/workstation installation: 2 files). - Does setup -repair help? If not, provide setup.log from after repair! Thanks
I have in the meantime uninstalled OpenOffice, deleted all the remaining files in the Open Office subtree and re-installed. It now works properly. I was running Windows XP pro; the graphics adapter nVidia GeForce4MX integrated GPU the monitor: Samtron 71S. I cannot find any file called sversion.ini There are 3 Common.xcu files in the new installation not one contains any string with Config in it not a network drive There is no setup.log in the new installation.
