Description faflu 2003-10-31 13:37:34 UTC
As in topic: you cannot access data source which is an OO calc spreadsheet
saved with password. There were no problem in 1.0.3 version. If you wanted to
access such a data source you were prompted to enter password and everything
was OK. Now there's only an error reported and you can only sit and cry....
Comment 1 utomo99 2003-11-12 11:02:19 UTC
if in 1.0.3 we can do this, and in OOo 1.1 we cannot it is regression.
and regression deserve for 1.1.1

utomo>fs:
is this DB or calc issue ?
please confirm.
Thanks

We have to balance the risk of a fix and the importance of this
regression. Now I set this tasks to 1.1.1, but I do not know, if this
is realy possible.

In 1.0, the password dialog always came up during load, regardless of
whether it was via API or UI. This was changed on purpose. When the
database driver loads the file, no dialogs are supposed to be shown.

Instead, it must be possible to configure the data source to require a
password, and then have the database UI ask for the password and pass
it to the driver. Because of the needed UI changes, this won't be done
for 1.1.1.

When the UI is available, the driver still has to be modified to make
use of the password.

verified in cws insight01. If you specify a password in the database properties
then the password dialog appear when open such file.
