Description magrawal 2003-10-29 17:12:55 UTC
I am attaching a very simple spreadsheet created in Calc. I wanted to see if it
was any easier to create charts using Excel, so I used Calc to save the
spreadsheet as Excel. The problem is that when I am opening the Excel
spreadsheet in Excel XP, the mouse is getting locked, I am unable to select a
cell and all the cells where the mouse is moving get selected. I am being forced
to close Excel using ctrl-alt-del.

I forgot to mention that I use StarOffice 7, not OORC5.

I would like to add the note that the problem disappeared when I
rebooted my computer. I wonder if the problem was because my computer
had been on for more than a day before I saved the file. Would it be
possible to check by saving the file from Calc locally to see if Calc
creates some problems while saving.
I also noticed that after I opened the saved Excel file, I could not
get Excel to work properly on any other .xls spreadsheet, it always
had that mouse lock problem. The problem however, disappeared after
rebooting.

Hi,

seems to be a local phenomenon. I can't reproduce it and the submitter
stated a reboot solved the problem for him.

So I close this as worksforme.
