Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 21871
snap to shape border/line
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:37:21 UTC
Hi, to improve the ease of arranging shapes, it would be convenient to have something like snap-to-object border (not just the points), so that one could move around the shape of a circle/diagonal line. This can now be accomplished a bit awkwardly by doing: 1. copy the object A (i.e. a circle, diagonal line) in its place 2. convert copy to curve, so that it gets a lot of (bezier) points (do it severaly to improve resolution) 3. click "snap to object points" 4. move the object B that shold move along object A's shape 5. delete the copy of the original object A With this little feature you could achieve that any shape could behave like a snap-line or snap point. Which would IMHO faciliate drawing. Especially when moving a shape along a diagonal line (now snap-lines can do this only horizontally and vertically). b.
