Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 21777
OOo should not show toolbars in full-screen mode
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:43:32 UTC
The writer is the only OOo application which hides the toolbar in fullscreen mode. All other OOo programs don't hide the toolbar because there are no shortcuts for these functions available.
In OOo there are shortcuts available (or can be defined or you can use the autocorrect/autoformat features, navigator and stylist are available in fullscreen mode) and you can easily switch from fullscreen to normal view using <ctrl>+<shift>+j For "simply draw the OOo window without titlebar" you can use the features of your window manager (well, with Windows there may be more tricks necessary). I personally doubt the usefullness of a fullscreen-mode with all the toolbars drawn. You should be going better with just disabling the status bar and all other toolsbars you don't like to see to use as much of the screen as possible. worksforme
I agree. So I first thought the not hidden toolbar would be a bug of the other OOo-applications. Please have a look at http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=21695 Because I agree you I think the other applications should also hide the toolbar. Because OOo should be uniform I think you should talk to the programmers of the other applications.
Ahh, now I see. Sorry for coming back to this issue late.. reopen to reassign.
OS->ALL, updated summary, prio lowered to 4, changed to enhancement, target-milestone not determined, reassigning & confirming. Sum-up: OOo should not show toolbars in full-screen mode (mainly calc & writer) Most windowmanagers support maximizing the windows (and removing the title-bar) themselves, so there's no need to just "enlage" the editable area. When features are needed and not available via shortcuts, one can easily switch between regular and fullscreen mode. for details please see above comments. see also issue 21695
SBA: Changed summary according to Christians "sum-up". Reassigned to Bettina.
