Description utomo99 2003-10-27 08:11:00 UTC
Many times people want to delete a cell, but they must confirm the option
(Delete content), meanwhile many user only need to delete all most of the time.
In OOo we must confirm this everytime.
IN Excel we can delete without anonying confirmation

I request for Option to delete cell without confirmation as in Excel, and other
spreadsheet program.

Hi Utomo,

such option exists. Just press the backspace key instead of del.

Maybe it can replace the function, but most people will use the delete
instead of using backspace.

so I stil requesting for this function, such as add checkbox,
always show this dialog. If we didnt want to show it, we can uncheck
the checkbox. and it will directly delete the cell without showing option

If this is done with bacspace, it should be exchanged with de Delete key. AFAIK
the idea is to bring Excel's users to Calc, so Calc should be as similar as
possible to Excel or at least has the option to program the key configuration as
Excel or as Calc or even if the user knows another spreadsheet customize the
keystrokes. I had done a lot of publicity of Open Office tools, but the people
complaint about the many dialogs to do everything that Excel does more
"intelligently", without many dialogs. Ok Calc shows more options, baut it can
be very annoying when you used to do the same things faster without select and
select and select options and options and options, this is a lack of Open
Office, the usability, and some of my friends return to Excel for little things
like this.
