In the referenced tar file, please find a sxd file with transparency. The PNG
file is exported correctly. The EPS (and e.g. EMF) files are not correct. If the
drawing is printed to Postscript file, then this is correct (after one disallows
downgrading of transparency). 

This problem occurs exporting graphics with transparency to a number of export
formats, on both Linux and Windows.

Yes, this is a known problem. Our vector format exporter don't handle
transparency very well, and it's definitely non-trivial to make them to.
