Description Unknown 2003-10-15 16:07:46 UTC
When i wan't to undo automatic change via Ctrl-Z and when
i wan't to totally déactivate AutoComplete in writer (or AutoInput in calc)
via the Check mark in 'AutoFormat' it simply doesn't work.

I tried this on the debian port of OpenOffice.org 1.1.0, and on the windows
version of OOo 1.1.0 it behave the same way.

completion
unchecked the enable word completion checkbox
closed the dialog with ok
enter some text with words known in the word completion lists

I was using Format/AutoFormat/WhileTyping for activation/deactivation
of the thing and it doesn't work, to deactivate i had to uncheck 'use
replacement table' in AutoCorrect/AutoFormat, tab Setting.
Your way doesn't deactivate the replacement of 'abotu' by 'about' (or
at least on the three computer i checked: one Debian, one NT4.0 and
one XP).

For the Ctl-Z part it now work seem it was a 1.1.0rc5 bug.

Can you please input exactly what your current problem is as it is not so clear now ?
Comment 4 Unknown 2003-11-06 15:01:49 UTC
To say it shortly the menu option Format/AutoFormat/WhileTyping
doesn't deactivate some automatic text modifications like the
correction from the replacement tab.

From my issue for the spreadsheet it appear that the pb is more an UI
conception error than a real bug.

My users want that what you follow the procedure pointed by the little
assistant all text corrections are deactivated. In fact if i
understand correctly there are two 'classes' of automatic text
modifications (AutoCorrect/Auto{Complete|Input}) and only one is
affected by the procedure described in the help.

So i think the UI need another way to temporarily deactivate
AutoCorrect and the help file need to be a little more 'precise' on
this point.

sorry for the delay but i don't receive mail from the activity of the
issue.

OO.o 1.1.0 - Windows Me

I unchecked the box next to Enable AutoCompletion and it works fine
for me.

OOo didn't try to complete any more words.

like for Chadley78 so it does for me.

no autocompletition or replacement are made

disable wordcompletition:
format -> autocorrect/autoformat-> wordcompletition uncheck enable
word completition

disable replacement of wrong written words or shordcurts
format -> autocorrect/autoformat -> options uncheck both checkboxes
"use replacement table"

this works here in all tests and under any cricumstances

wordcompletition will not be effected if you uncheck "use replacement
table because this is not an automatic replacement, just an clue for
the word you are typing.

in the help this is even spitted. so i do not understand the problem
here.

i set this to invalid because this is not reproducible and your posts
do not make clear what is wrong.

maybe i just misunderstand you, so feel free to reopen this issue or
mail me and give me a advice of what you did and what you have
expected to happen.

tell me what you looked for in the help and maybe this will enable me
to help you
